1. SP Page Builder 3.x
  2. Monday, 17 August 2020
I have suddenly encountered a problem with SP Pagebuilder - I cannot access any pages to edit them, both in back end and front end. I am getting an http 500 error. Everything was working OK a few days ago when I last did some edits, but today I cannot get into any pages or even create new ones. I have not made any changes to the site or to Joomla since last using SPPB. I need to get this resolved ASAP, any help much appreciated.

Thanks for info. We cannot change anything in your cPanel. Beyond us.
----
cpGuard is a security suite for cPanel and DirectAdmin Servers

We can contact, but by now you have to disable this feature or ask them as well.
As you may see this problem wasn't caused by us.
Even a few minutes we checked our code.

I have been in dailogue with my ISP over this issue and the problem has been identified in this PHP error report:

"Warning: require_once(/home/nfhop/public_html/administrator/components/com_sppagebuilder/builder/settings/icon-font-awesome.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/nfhop/public_html/administrator/components/com_sppagebuilder/builder/classes/base.php on line 277

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required '/home/nfhop/public_html/administrator/components/com_sppagebuilder/builder/settings/icon-font-awesome.php' (include_path='.:/opt/cpanel/ea-php72/root/usr/share/pear') in /home/nfhop/public_html/administrator/components/com_sppagebuilder/builder/classes/base.php on line 277"

So I have tried replacing the missing PHP file, and it restores SPPB to full functionality - however, only temporarily. As soon as I leave SPPB the icon-font-awesome.php disappears again. Is this a bug in SPPB, or is there something causing this file to be deleted?

Hi,
SPPB cannot delete those files alone, so please contact hosting support for Q: what is going on.
It can be server firewall actions.

You're the only person as I know with this kind of issue.

If you have an alternative hosting company - recover website backup and test there.

Hi - my ISP have run a virus checker on the site - here is their reply:

"Hello Michael,
Very interesting result. See attached.

I've restored the files - but you should let the developer know that cpGuard is recognising the file as a virus and is quarantining it. They will want to contact cpGuard to find out more and/or whitelist it with them.

Let me know if this helps."

I have attached their scan report

Can you get this file whitelisted with cpGuard please

On the website:

JCE Editor
Akeeba backup
Regular Labs Modules Anywhere
Regular Labs Sourcerer
Regular Labs Tabs
Regular Labs Library
Cookiehint
DJ-EasyContact
SPPB
Helix Ultimate

However the problem appears to be that cpGuard is seeing that file as a virus - cpGuard is employed by my ISP at server level so I have no access to it.

You can share that file with us ( You can make zip and upload to dropbox and share the link with me in PM ). We've checked in our end and nothing seemed suspicious.

I would like to inform one thing, as SP Page Builder deals with frontend edit and you have the media manager in the frontend editor and the media manager does support SVG. So, you have to be very careful with your admin password.

Thanks
