After updating to Joomla 3.8.12 and SP Page Builder 3.2.8 the front end started showing the PHP notice from components/com_sppagebuilder/layouts/row/start.php on line 158.

The undefined property was external_background_video.

Furthermore, my first post was blocked by Cloudflare Ray ID: 45201a085b5cbfcc - hopefully this post is accepted.

Hi,

Not possible because it is a corporate site. I do not want to turn off PHP notices but I suggest that you inspect the source code of start.php and add a few isset() statements. There is also a possible confusion between the variables $external_background_video and $background_external_video on the following lines:
- 19
- 158
- 266
- 299

The page has two .mp4 videos and the video still works but the page started to display the PHP notice after SP Page Builder was upgraded to 3.2.8.

No changes to the page were made. I assume that a version upgrade would not require the content editor to review or add new parameters.

I cloned the site from Azure Cloud to localhost as a test. The PHP notice was displayed on the page containing a local .mp4 file. After this page was saved unchanged, the PHP notice disappeared.

The live production site does not display PHP notices, it only writes them to the PHP error log, but I still believe that a version update should work out-of-the-box without any PHP notices about undefined properties and without the content editors having to review existing pages containing .mp4 files.

[04-Sep-2018 06:18:17 UTC] PHP Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$external_background_video in C:\www\iotrestore\components\com_sppagebuilder\layouts\row\start.php on line 158

After the page with a video was saved, the notice disappeared from that page. The notice still appears on other pages that have not been saved.
