Hi there,

I have been making do for quite a while now but I realise i need to address this issue and im wondering if there are any solutions to this problem.

Im selling wines, and liquors. Currently categorising liquors is easy.

But when it comes to the wines, I have to be very clear and package them properly especially when im going to scale.

Wines currently are simply put wines and then ive categorised them as a mess...

France
Italy
Australia
Champagne
Moscato
Prosecco

However this is bad. 1 particular wine can be a prosecco and also from Italy.

It seems now shopin template uses the article as a product, but that product/article can only be assigned to 1 category.

Am i missing something here?

Ideally i would like customers to see on 1 click.. wines from Italy, and on also 1 click wines that are Shiraz, or Moscato, or Champagne, or Red Wine

hi there,

Looks like I have to use tags.

So i now have no choice but to look at the Tag Layout, which has a different layout than the Product Article Layout.
Just wondering if there are any documentation on this but i will understand if there isnt.

Also just need to check if Shopin Template actually caters to tags.

Hi, guys. It looks like you are addressing the wrong way with these issues.
About functionality - these questions for j2Store support or j2Store documentation. j2Store is a third-party software. The Joomshaper guys just make look for that in Shopin template for some php layouts of j2Store and nothing more.

Each store component may have up to 100 php layouts. None of the templates developers never makes the design for all of them. Otherwise it would have cost of cosmic amounts. Usually do the design for several basic layouts. If you need to design for a specific layout, you can do it yourself using css or hire a professional. (IMO)

Okay, i understand that. It would have been good to mention that there are it is under j2store and not under the template. But actually its fine, as a single developer working on my own site, i would be able to take the time. However it would be good for you guys to also know as well. Anyways Im glad you replied, alas I already did my own digging lol.

Okay... jesus h christ. I did a standalone on my computer with xamp and starting trying to find where exactly this file is that controls the Tag layout for just a content/product page.

Its in
comj2store/templates/tag_bootstrap3/

there are a bunch of files.. and the file to edit is view_simple.php

Hi Nuno,

I found a solution. It has to do with using the default tag component with shopin template.

Go to the Template>shaper_shopin>html>comj2store>templates>bootsrap3. (Copy all the files)

Go to components>comj2store>templates>tag_bootstrap3 (paste and replace files) (I suggest you do a backup first)

All should be similar with just minor CSS adjustments.

Add j2store tag as a menu item under menu manager. Tempalte style - is default. (which is shopin)

BUT go to the second tab , COMMON OPTIONS
Sub template is tag_bootstrap

I chose Show quantity field to be Yes.
