Hello!

Is it possible for Helix Ultimate and SPPBuilder to follow the Media settings/options/parameters for:

  • Path to Files Folder
  • Path to Images Folder

instead of hard coding it to /images? I assume it was hard coded since there's no setting to change that.

I think since J2.5, an API to get component parameters has been added.

JComponentHelper::getParams('com_media');

I wish you guys will consider changing your code. This update will not affect any of your client's setup since the default is always /images but it will make your product compatible for those who like to use custom settings for Joomla. Like me :p I like to use /assets more like using /images.

Thanks,

Jackson

Hi Toufiq,

It is not an issue per se and it does not create an error or what but rather a suggestion on how your software works. Well, it is an issue for my preference of not using /images folder which is Joomla's default. :D

Just like I mentioned above, JoomShaper's media manager hard coded the folder path for images and files as /images. What I am suggesting is to change that to follow Joomla's media manager parameters so when a site admin change that settings, so as JoomShaper's media manager.

I hope I am describing it better now.

Thanks,

Jackson

Hi Toufiq,

I did not change anything, I am suggesting that you guys change your code to not hardcode the /images folder but instead get the value from com_media parameters/options.

I just quickly searched for /images in /administrator/components/com_sppagebuilder and I found several files that needs to be change.

sppbuilder_images_path.png

Please use this instead:

JComponentHelper::getParams('com_media')->get('image_path')

and/or

JComponentHelper::getParams('com_media')->get('file_path')

Thanks,

Jackson

Hi Toufiq,

I thought I explained my position above but I'll say it again. I did not change anything in your code but rather I am suggesting that you guys (your developers) should not hard code the /images folder of SP Builder Media Manager and Helix Ultimate or Helix 3 framework.

Rather, get the folder path from Joomla's Media (com_media) parameters. That way, those web admin who wanted to create their own media folder path (like me) can take advantage of com_media parameters.

Am I explaining it clearly now or you still don't get it?

LAC Webadmin. Please see the posting below regarding your default folder issue. With a little help from another online member, we've got an archive you can download and tweek your settings with. It's not a perfect scenario, but it's better than nothing!
