Resolved Image Title Removal

I saw someone posted a question a few months ago about posting an image title and the response was that it's not possible. Not sure if there's been a change since, but it does so now! My question is, can I REMOVE the image title? I have my images title in numerical order so they appear properly on my page. However, I do not need that title to be shown in the lightbox. Can I remove this?

Open default.php and look for the code 
title="<?php echo $item->title ?>"
and replace with 
title=" "
