Resolved How can I rename SEF URLs for SP Simple Portfolio

Hi,

I am running Simple Portfolio on a mulitlanguage site. The SEF URLs are composed like this

German: http://www.mysite.com/component/spsimpleportfolio/item/15-informationstechnologie
English: http://www.mysite.com/en/component/spsimpleportfolio/item/24-information-technology

So switching the language always gives me an 404error because the respective page is not found.

I have to questions:
1. is there any way to "rename" these URLs (like eg. into http://www.mysite.com/alias) - which means that the string /component/spsimpleportfolio/item/id would be completely left?
2. what do you recommend for mulilanguage sites? The issue with 404 described above is not very nice. Of course I could do it with a redirection for every item - but there should be another way I assume.

Sorry Toufiq,

This is not a working solution. As Paul has stated in one of the other forum threats IDs cannot be hidden in the SP Simple Portfolio URLs at all. This option is simply not available in the component and cannot be achieved by any workaround.

Meanwhile I have converted all items from Portfolio into Joomla articles and categories to get it working.

Hi there, Yes, there is no option to remove the id. I was thinking that you wanna remove the component text from the url. Thanks

Thanks for your query. First of all, create a menu and assign the portfolio items. Then watch the video & follow the process.
