After an update to Joomla 3.8.10 I am getting errors and I cannot use the menu.

I did a fresh install to test and everything was O.,K. until I installed a Joomshaper template - I tried Spectrum and Educon and both templates caused the error. When I uninstalled the templates and SP Page Builder the error stayed.

In the test site if I disable the plugins Helix3-Ajax and System helix3 Framework the menu will start to work again - but on 2 other sites if I disable the plugins nothing happens. And since they are live sites I don't want to screw around with them too much.

fix:
Install template Helix3 v2.5.5 - it will update all plugins



old quick fix:
open the following file ‘/plugins/system/helix3/helix3.php’ on 50 line add below php code:

if (is_object($data)) {
$data = (array)$data;
}

Hi,
it's bug caused by today double Joomla update. We couldn't predict issue.
You have to wait for official Helix3 update. We will try to publish fix tomorrow.

Any time-frame on the Helix3 update Paul? I came across with the update as well. Had to revert back to 3.8.8. Long discussion on Joomla's forum: https://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=710&t=963137

Seems to have a conflict with menu creation and modification I had.

have the same issue at another site. There your fix doesn't work.
Using Helix Ultimate there as a template.

Sorry, I have fix for Helix3 only.

On Joomla with Helix Ultimate only - menu work OK, tested.
It means that you have installed, not used template. Uninstall or use my fix.

You can , but you can also use my fix, It work for 100% , tested
Fix will take you 60 sec, no stress, just do what you see on image.

yes, update Helix3 plugins. They should be visible in update Joomla section, if not , clear cache and click find again.

if you do not use them , why you keep them. Uninstall. Also not used templates too.

I have uninstalled all Helix 3 and all not used templates. Cleared system cache and Browser cache. Still the same result.

I reinstalled Helix Ultimate. Noting happened. After that, I uninstalled Logman and updated CoalaWeb. Problem is gone. Sorry, but I can't tell you which of the plugins caused the problem. For sure, it wasn't Helix Ultimate.

I suspect there are other extensions or templates which might also need updating to be compatible with 3.8.10, not just Helix.

@Simon, there is high probability that you have right. If HU + SPPB + Joomla 3.8.10 = no problems.

@ikarus56 you have to check by disabling extra plugin by plugin. It must be one of them.

Info for all users
If you have installed and enabled plugin: System - Extra Menu Params from YouTech Company
DISABLE to fix the menu problem. Then you can its ask developer for update.

Hi guys,

I faced the same issue and added the quick fix to helix3.php. Menu editing works again. Very good.

Now my questions:
* Is it necessary to upgrade the helix3 framework nevertheless?
* How to upgrade the helix3 framework? Simply reinstall the current template V2.5.5? Or the Quickstart?
* Or is this a manual task, as I have read in another thread in this forum: https://www.joomshaper.com/forums/how-to-update-or-upgrade-helix-3-framework-template
* How do I get the currently installed version no.? -> SOLVED. To be found in Extension's administration. I have version 1.0 installed.
* Why is the plugin not updated automatically like all other plugins?

1) Only If you want to get fixes, improvements - the answer is yes.

It doesn't work ok with Helix Ultimate for me. I too am having the same issue using the Opus template.

[UPDATE] I stand corrected, the issue was not Helix Ultimate in my situation. Turns out it was the Google Structured Data plugin by Tassos Marinos that was causing my issue. Upgraded to the latest version and my issue was resolved.
