What a day im having with Helix of all versions!

Current problem is I've installed the quickstart package and the Helix V2 Framework based template administration interface is not there! . Server meets the prerequest and Ive made no changes to the quick start package.

I dont really want the quick start package but I tried loading the template and plugin and get "Helix framework not found" a familiar error on the forum without a resolution. Ive tyhough ti might be the joomla 3.4 update i did so i took it off and started again but so far nothing will get me to a position were i can get on with some work developing the site. Very disappointed so far, and the help\documentation is hard to find at best.

Can anyone help please?

Hi Neil,

I hear you but as far as the "Travel" is concerned, there is nothing can be done in terms of enhancing this template editing interface.

Having said that, you still can play with a lot of parameters, like logo settings, layout types and widths, menu drop down column width and animation types, body and header fonts, CSS/JS compression, integration with Google Analytics, loading/not loading jQuery and Bootstrap.

All in all, it looks pretty already out-of-the-box. May be those who say "Less is more" are right indeed? :)

Alex

I missed the fact that there were major differences between the templates, it was only travel template that I wanted. I would be happy to use the new framework, but the documentation implies most of the extensions are not currently compatible and there is only one template available, is that the case? I don't really want to experiment with the new template or hope the extensions i want work, I though it I had found the design and solution I required.

On the subject of browser support, does anything support Opera?

Hi Neil,

If you would like to build web-site on our latest template, I suggest you install Helix-3 Quick Start pack with demo content and play with its items. Our "Travel" template has been build on Helix-I, nearly four years ago, hence only basic interface for the template editing under the template manager.

Hi Alex

thanks for the response. I did check everything was enabled just in case but it is automatically enabled when you use the quickstart package. Im trying to use the "shaper_travel" template, its not clear anywhere but might this template not have the "Helix V2 Framework based template administration interface"?? I installed the travelkit template as a test and the interface comes up with that one (although it isnt supported in Opera). If the interface is not part of this template configuration will be somewhat limited, how, for instance would i change the logo?

Hi there,

I've just installed the standalone Helix-II + "System Plugin Joomla 2.5 & 3" on vanilla Joomla 3.4 with demo content and it worked like charm. The only thing to take care off is to make sure that you went to Joomla's plugin manager and enabled the plugin.

Alex
