Hello there,

Some time ago, I posted this issue: https://www.joomshaper.com/forums/article-addon-image-source-gazette-template .

Toufiq was kind enough to provide the attached .zip file with an override. It worked for the basic default layout setting and the modern setting. However, I am still having a couple source issues I can hopefully get resolved asap.

For the articles add on (Gazette) the attached zip did not change the image source to Joomla Intro-Image for (a) Articles Add-On Horizontal View and (b) Article Add-On Masonry View. Both of these we need to wrap up the project.

We also need to change the image source to "Joomla Intro Image" for the Article Scroller Add-On (Gazette Style). We tried to use a work around and upload images to the SP Blog tab, but this overrides the image in other layouts and uses a different aspect ratio (problematic).

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

Thanks for your query. Is it possible to share a screencast video that you want to do exactly?

Hi Toufiq,

I am not sure how to screen cast my request as there really isn't a visible issue to show. But, to recap...

I need all page elements to use the Joomla intro-image for the image source (articles slider, articles).

You previously sent me that .zip file to override the spp article files. It worked to change the source for the Pagebuilder articles BUT - it doesn't work for articles in horizontal or masonry layout. I need the horizontal more than masonry as that layout along with the "default" is present in the Gazette template.

The second element I need the override for is the articles slider - so it uses Joomla intro image. In my case, it is the Gazette magazine layout (per the demo, the version with 3 images horizontal).

thanks!

Hey Toufiq, Hope you're well. Any update on this? As a reminder...

1. You provided override for article addon (it works...EXCEPT)..
2. The Horizontal layout (used in Gazette) - still has blank image - not working with override.
3. I need the same settings / override for the article slider (magazine layout) - so it too pulls the Joomla intro-image.

Thanks

Hi Toufiq!

Thanks for the reply. Does this site.php file go into the addons folder for articles or articles-slider? I actually need both to have the Joomla intro-image source. The slider being the one instance on Gazette homepage (magazine layout).

Thanks

Hi Toufiq!

Thanks for this. The update now allows the articles addon in horizontal layout to work as we need. BUT, there is still the articles slider addon (magazine layout) that does not work with Joomla intro-image (they are still all blank).

Do you have a similar file to override the articles slider and articles horizontal slider addons (image attached).

Thanks again!

Hi Toufiq,

Do you know when this will be? I need to launch this project - but the homepage slideshow is blank. Otherwise, I'll need to usee a different extension. Thanks

Hi Toufiq,

Thanks for the reply. Currently, I cannot use that option because the Helix blog will override the Joomla intro-image in articles and also category view / blog layouts.

Hi Toufiq.
I use Gazette for a project. And I have 2 requests if you could help me.

First is related with the above posts.
For the articles I use only one image, the featured image in blog options. And usually the size is about 10kb.
The Helix automatically creates 4 more images (thumbnail, small, medium, large) that takes about 500kb.
I dont want that. So I disabled this feature from Helix. But how can I change the image url in article, article slider etc.
I see this code in site.php. I have to change the $item->image_medium to $item->image(article-intro-image)
But how exactly shall I describe this image?

//bg image
$bgimage = '';
if($slider_style == "bg_image";){
$bgimage = 'style="background-image: url('. $item->image_medium .');"';
}
$output .= '<div class="sppb-addon-article item" '. $bgimage .'>';

Second.
The Offcanvas menu is to big for mobile horizontal view. And it doesn't scroll.
How could I make it scroll? When I touch the screen it scrolls the site content and not the menu.

Thank you.
