1. Crux
  2. Friday, 24 January 2014
Hello!

I need some help with the Kunena plug-in. The announcement section seems to be broken with the Crux template. I have attached screenshots for clarity.

I am also having issues with the BB Code editor used with Kunena. It is very basic and hard to use. Is there a way I can install a different BB-Code editor for Kunena?

Also, I am having a problem with the Custom HTML modules. I wanted to write some simple PHP code to show when my TeamSpeak (VOIP) server was online - however it seems that something that came with your quickstart guide is formatting the PHP code to HTML (like <p> and other style codes). By doing so it breaks any code. I have disabled the editor in Global Config (set to None) and EVEN THEN it changes my code from this:
{source}
<?php
if(@fsockopen("<TS3 address>",<TS3 Port>,&$errno,&$errstr,2))
{
echo htmlspecialchars_decode("<font color='green'>Online</font>";);
}
else{
echo htmlspecialchars_decode("<font color='red'>Offline</font>";);
};
?>
{/source}

to this:

-I had to take a screenshot, your forum keeps formatting it. Attached it below.

I had to add some random spacing, your forum extension keeps formatting it rather than just displaying the code.

Finally, is there a way to clean up URL/Links? Currently I have things like /index.php?option=com_content&view=featured&Itemid=435 rather than /home.

More Issues!!!!!!!!!!!

The Game of the Day module no longer aligns correctly, could you please help? (See meldedgaming.com). I edited it and changed the text and it started putting the text underneath the module rather than aligning it automatically to the right. Now I have to try and edit the image to align to the left but it makes the formatting look bad.

The Video tab is broken on the home page!

Thanks in advance!

Kind Regards,
Unwired

We are really very sorry that somehow it is missing.

1. Please need your site url for this issue.

2. BB Code editor: Please ask Kunena forum for this issue. Here is the link : http://www.kunena.org/forum/

3. It is not possible to write Php code in custom html module in Joomla. You can use index.php for that.

4. For url/links: Set Search Engine Friendly URLs from Global Configuration

Other issue can be solved to see your site.

5. Game of the Day: Write margin-left:10px on custom.css line # 21

6. Use the latest youtube module.

I've also run into an issue where I can't get Re Captcha to work with Registration (I do not want spam bots). I've enabled the plugin in extensions and applied my private and public codes as well as setting it to the global default and default in User Manage. It still does not appear when you try to register.

Next, I think alongside the Announcement problem with Kunena, the template I bought does not sit well with the BBCode editor. The default one that came with your template.

It's like the symbols for the BBCode have been poorly cropped and have jagged white outlines when the template was implemented. You may have to register an account to see the editor on the forum for yourself.

Please, send your admin access to check the Re-captcha issue.

Provide a screen shot with mark of the BBCode editor problem.

BBCode problem attached. Apparently there is a way to change it to the TinyMCE editor? That would be a much better fix.

I am reluctant to provide administrator access for ReCaptcha, as it is based on my Google Webmaster account tokens. Maybe you can try an offline version of the site or something?

I enable it and it does not appear, simple as that. When it is enabled and you try to register you get an error of something like "cannot leave answer empty". The problem is that you can't actually see the Captcha in order to answer it.

Also, what about the issue with announcements? It is still a giant white box instead of being Crux, I can't see how to fix it.

1. I think there is tough to change the images and its enough: See the screen shot : https://copy.com/QLAv44e7kY8V. If you want you can use TinyMC.

2. Write the below css on template.css file for Announcement

#Kunena div#kannouncement .kanndesc{
background: none !important
}

3. Please, check carefully the captcha settings.

Sorry I am not sure what you mean in Step 1.

If you mean how I made the BBCode larger I did it in photoshop so you could see what I was talking about. There is a white outline rather than it being smooth like the one I highlighted in green. I can honestly not make it any more obvious.

Look at what I circled in green. The red exclamation. The outline of it is smooth. Now look at what I circled in yellow and made larger so you can see it; it is not smooth. It has like a white outline that makes it look pixelated.

How do I make it use TinyMC? I can't see any options in the Kunena Component to change the BBCode.

2. I can't find the Announcement section of template.css. I am not sure if I found the correct file. /templaters/shaper_crux/CSS/template.css - is that the right location?

I also tried /components/com_kunena/template/shaper_crux/css - but there is no template.css file there.

3. Captcha settings are only asking for tokens given by Google. I correctly input the tokens (in the ReCaptcha plug-in) and enabled ReCaptcha globally. I then enabled it in User Management options. It still does not appear in the registration form.

---
Another Question:

How do I change what email address my registration confirmation email sends to users? It is currently using my personal email address rather than "Melded Gaming" or similar.

So every user who registers is finding out what my personal email address is. You probably saw it when you made an account to test the BBCode.

Also I just wanted to say - thank-you Riyadh. You've been an amazing help and the support you have given me is very much appreciated.

I have fixed all issues, including captcha except for the following:

1. I still want to change Kunena to TinyMC by default.

2. I can't locate the template.css file for Kunena announcements. Please tell me what the directory is for the demo site and I will find it on my FTP client.

I have found the location of template.css but there is no "Kunena" or "Announcement" section. The only Crux related Kunena thing I can find is in the Kunena Templates section. Shouldn't it be placed somewhere in here: /components/com_kunena/template/shaper_crux/css?

Where should I put the Announcement code in template.css? I have attached my template.css below.

Dear, you don't need to find kunena template section because we override their css. So, just copy and paste the code on template.css file at the top.

Note: Path is public_html/templates/shaper_crux... not components/com_kunena/

Thank-you very much for your assistance, I have fixed all previous issues!

I have encountered another error. Could you please log into your account on the home page, then click on "My Account" at the top right -> "My account" and then edit your profile. When you click on Save you should get a 404 error. Do you know why it is happening?

Thank-you for your patience and assistance!

Yes, using friendly url's and prefixes seemed to fix it.

Currently the admin panel says to update Joomla; "2.5.18 - Update Now". Should I update, or would it break the website?

Hi! Thanks for all your help!

I have run into a new issue :(

I want to use Friendly URLS so the site looks clean. To get it to work I need to check:
Search Engine Friendly
Use URL Rewriting
Adds Suffix to URL

I don't want to add suffixes to my website but when I disable it, I get a 404 error. Can you please help?

Thank-you Riyadh!
