How do you fix a 1064 error? (see screenshot attached) and text below)

"You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ') AND language in ('en-GB','*') ORDER BY spsimpleportfolio_tag_id ASC' at line 3 SQL=SELECT `spsimpleportfolio_tag_id`,`title`,`alias` FROM `#__spsimpleportfolio_tags` WHERE `spsimpleportfolio_tag_id` IN () AND language in ('en-GB','*') ORDER BY spsimpleportfolio_tag_id ASC"

The above message shows up when I want to view the front end of my website which is using the OneClip template framework. I'm tailoring the Corporate demo site via SP Page Builder as needed..

The issue is happening with the Porfolios:
FYI I have found that in trying to test the SP Simple Portfolio extension's existing module (Portfolio - Corporate Variation) by adding extra tags,or an extra item, it didn't have any effect on the existing Corporate home page presentation of the portfolio.

Ditto when I added a new menu item and tried testing new portfolio modules.

I have removed all instances of the extra tags, categories, items, etc to leave the template with Portfolio - Corporate Variation to original setting but to no avail. The error message stays put.

Look forward to your input and when this can be fixed in template so I can actually go and create new SP Simple portfolio modules with new tags, items, etc where I want !

Thanks and regards

PS: I have contacted my web host and requested they address the MySQL server version and/or syntax issue, if that was the solution, but they advised it was out of their scope !

UPDATE ON TICKET:
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the SP Simple Portfolio extension and error message has gone.
I read from another forum post that in effect resets the databases and indeed I was able to continue with working with the template.
Cheers problem FYI is resolved. .

I am getting this error.

You Have An Error In Your SQL Syntax; Check The Manual That Corresponds To Your MySQL Server Version For The Right Syntax To Use Near ') AND Language In ('En-GB','*') ORDER BY Spsimpleportfolio_tag_id ASC' At Line 3 SQL=SELECT `Spsimpleportfolio_tag_id`,`Title`,`Alias` FROM `#__spsimpleportfolio_tags` WHERE `Spsimpleportfolio_tag_id` IN () AND Language In ('En-GB','*') ORDER BY Spsimpleportfolio_tag_id ASC

Would you please let me know how I can fix this?
Thanks.

Hi, Just do what I did - ie. you uninstall your SP Simple Portfolio component by 1st unpublishing your module/extension (from the Extensions\Modules tab) and trashing it.

Then go to Extensions tab again and navigate to "Manage" and find your SP Simple Portfolio extension, then unpublish it and then 'Uninstall' from menu option.

Download a fresh copy / package of the SP Simple Portfolio Extension from JoomShaper's Extensions Download page and reinstall, then recreate a module, and its content.

If you do that you should be right!

Cheers

PS: you are basically then disassociating the original database associated with the template and allowing the Extension upon new installation to recreate a new / blank database that will work with current version of template. :)

Thanks Liz for your quick replies.

I have a ticket with them. It seems that there could be an issue with the SQL version.

I will wait to hear from them.
