If we talk about this same Addon: Articles Scroller (from SPPB 3.x), you can use it in 3 ways:
a) inside Page (SPPB)
b) inside Article (if Article integration inside SPPB is enabled)
c) Inside SPPB module

I'm not talking about the add-on Articles Scroller I'm talking about the add-on article slider

The article slider addon from which exactly template?

In that case, some addons are "glued" to Gazette template only.
Of course, you can copy & move addon PHP code - but CSS & JS may be related too.
